The Festival of Rescue is the leading rescue competition in the UK bringing together competitors from fire and rescue services around the UK to compete in five disciplines: Trauma Care, Rope Rescue, Urban Search and Rescue, Vehicle Extrication and Water Rescue. Open to the public the teams are assessed as they undertake various challenges in front of a live audience.

Sharon was invited along as a guest by Cathriona Frawley of SCOPE ITR a Technical consultancy service who sponsored the Ukrainian Fire service to attend the event.

The daytime, filled with competitive events and training exercises was eye opening, with UK Fire Service personnel displaying their skills and expertise in some of the most challenging circumstances. The UK services took the opportunity to help provide support and training to their Ukrainian counterparts on new methods and equipment, with the hope they leave with new skills to help support the difficulties they face back home.

The day concluded with an evening celebrating the culture and diversity of the West Midlands, Asian cuisine and a local Bhangra dance troop providing the entertainment, whilst BURNAID were the chosen charity of the evening. Burnaid is a small local charity that supports Burn Survivors and their families at the two West Midlands Burn Centres. One based at Birmingham Children's Hospital and the other at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

It was a privilege to be invited along and humbling to meet so many brave and selfless people who work so hard to keep us all safe. Here at Creative Hubb Ltd, we are fortunate enough to regularly work on projects with the Emergency Services and the Military, it is always an honour and a pleasure to be involved projects with them.
